Hello!

Just want to ask if there is a way that my JButton's action could be that I will send an automatic email with automatic content (a string or a text attachment)? As of now, I am doing it via:

but this opens a microsoft outlook window. however, our users do not use microsoft outlook and the best that they could do is use our stand alone app and press the JButton knowing that when they do, a certain email is sent to a specific email (assuming of course they have an internet connection) -- they don't even have to change any of the contents in the email, they just have to click the button.

can i do this? or what would be the easiest way to do this given that my users aren't really familiar with emails?

thanks! i really hope you can help me on this one... =)

You can use JavaMail or Apache Commons Email to create and send the messages. You'll probably need to specify the SMTP server though.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
