Thanks for the response Mikalai.
Can you please suggest would it be worth it to go for the old SCDJWS 1.4 exam?
Atleast i have the study material and path clearly chalked out for SCDJWS 1.4 exam.

The new production SCDJWS 1.5 exam seems to be really hard to crack because
1. The objectives are not out.
2. The study path is not compiled by any of the experts.

I would say you should attempt SCDJWS 5.

The thing with this certification is that the syllabus has always been vast. You will need to refer multiple sources even if you decide to go for 1.4. So you should not shy away from that.

All The Best with your preparations!

Thanks, Ravi.

So basically SCDJWS 5 updates WS-I Basic Profile and SOAP versions, replaces JAX-RPC with JAX-WS, adds REST, JSON, and adds Web Services Interoperability Technologies.
It has more objectives than SCDJWS 1.4.

They just forgot to update the title and product description as it is still referring to J2EE 1.4...

"The Sun Certified Developer for Java Web Services certification exam is for developers who have been creating web services applications using Java technology components such as those supported by the Java Web Services Developer Pack and the Java 2, Enterprise Edition 1.4 platform..."

Yes, I noticed that too. It's also possible that they also forgot to update Details section.
