What do you mean Media files ?

Do you want to convert like mp3/mp4/xvid files into a dvd that you can see on your normal dvd player ?

Doesn't you OS come with Movie Maker, or something like that that Microsoft made.

Anyway, the free stuff isn't really that good, and can be a pain. There are some great sites out there for how to do it and reviews of the software, do a Google search for DVD Burning. I have Nero's Suite, which came with my DVD Burner, and it worked really well for me, over all the other stuff I tried.

Nero++ although I liked the version 6 line better than the version 7 line. Alas, my 7 license doesn't work for 6 and 6 isn't supported anymore.

Yes, exactly. Nero 7 came with my DVD Burner and was free. But we do want to make sure that any software that is free is not breaking a copyrighting issue.
