Hi ranchers,

Now that Sun have updated the web services cert I'm keen to get going with web services and start learning. I have few years J2EE experience but little web services.

I've purchased SOA Using Java Web Services book and now setting up my development environment.

What do I need? Can anybody describe an ideal install?

I'm familiar with Eclipse and Tomcat, Websphere but would be fine using netbeans, glassfish etc.

Thanks,

Scott

I would suggest GlassFish as the server; it includes everything needed for the exam. I'd also suggest not to use an IDE -at least not their web service features-, because those abstract away the details that you will need to know for the exam. Using an IDE to write and compile code is fine.
