Hello,

The alert mails that I receive when I choose to watch a thread contain "coderanch" in the URL instead of "javaranch". This usually leads to a 404.
A typical URL I receive through the alerts is as follows -
http://www.coderanch.com/forums/posts/list/###

"coderanch" is correct, because all functionality for handling alert emails as well as the discussion forums is running on www.coderanch.com. Can you give an example of an URL that leads to a 404? You can send me a PM if you don't want to post it publicly.

I don't know if it's the sort of thing AM had in mind, but for me www.coderanch.com springs to mind as a starting point.

That's actually not a 404, just a "go away" page...

Ernest is correct. It's not really a 404, but yesterday I was bumping into the "Aack" page.
The reason why the 404 came to mind is that I remember some time back I was searching for a topic on Google, and a Ranch thread got listed. When I clicked on it, it said that Javaranch is no longer hosted on coderanch, or some message like that. And since, yesterday I saw that the alert mails had "coderanch" in the URL, and I kept getting the "Aack" page, I thought there might be a problem.
I tried accessing the links today, and they seem to be working just fine. I apologise for setting off any alarm bells accidently. My bad :-/
