how to write < >in the soap response  RSS feed

i have a method returned a string value, but this string is like this"<abc>ddd</abc>".
when i check the soap response ,i find that the < and > become < and >.
how can i keep the string in the soap response unchanged?

you should probably use XML CDATA.
