The first is the java version which is downloaded with Fedora, the second is the Sun installation which I downloaded myself.

OpenJDK Client VM (build 14.0-b08, mixed mode)
[Campbell@localhost ~]$ which java
[Campbell@localhost ~]$ java -version
java version "1.6.0_11"
Java(TM) SE Runtime Environment (build 1.6.0_11-b03)
Java HotSpot(TM) Client VM (build 11.0-b16, mixed mode, sharing)
