Okay, I've spent about six hours over the weekend trying to find where Sun hides the documentation for the Java API. I'm a beginner and using Java SDK SE. I've used their website, been up and down through hundreds of pages, I've Googled it far and wide and cannot seem to find it anywhere. I just want to download it like the book recommends in "Head First Java", which is great. I can find the online HTML version but not the downloadable version.

I just spent another couple hours today looking for it and have to admit total defeat. I'm ready to lose it.

Go to Sun's Java SE download page.
Scroll down to "Java SE 6 Documentation".
Click the Download button to the right of it.

Well, now I feel dumb. In my own defense that download button looks like it is associated with the item above it. I kept clicking on the "docs" button because that is associated with the correct item.

Thanks very much!

Don't. The Sun site seems to have millions of pages and it is by no means easy to navigate around until you get used to it.
