Any implementation considerations to be made for apps to be provided on both Android and iPhone?

If you had the luxury to provide an app for both devices, what would you consider the most important and critical considerations for your implementation.

The problem with implementation considerations between android and iphone is that you are developing in two completely different languages and environments. So the implementations can be quite different.

Even so, would there be some considerations to make to supporting both devices in parallel for a particular app?
Any war stories here?

There exists a framework that allows you to translate java code to Objective C.

But that will only cover app logic not the App LifeCycle and in fact the GUI.
