This afternoon I looked at the certmanager and found that my results for the SCJD were there.

General Con: 100 92
Documentation: 70 70
OOD: 30 30
GUI: 40 33
Locking: 80 80
Data Store: 40 40
Network Server: 40 40
Total: 400 385

Although I only posed one question myself I could not have gotten this result without all the discussions on this forum. I have searched this site on numerous occasions for inspiration on several subjects and would like to express my gratitude to all ranchers that are here to help other people. Also Andrew Monkhouse's excellent book helped me a lot.

My approach was a three layered architecture. I used the MVC pattern for building the gui and RMI for the server. In the business layer a facade to translate the low level DBAccess methods to business methods like find(criteria) and reserve(accommodation). No gui for the server.

I implemented a runtime exception to handle IO exceptions in the Data class and a separate LockManager helper class.

I documented all methods and variables including private.

I used java logging (first time after using log4j for many years) especially helpful for the data and server packages.

I found some test classes on this forum that got me a head start with building JUnit tests for the server and data packages. When I got into the final stage I found some bugs with them after searching the logfiles for errors.

Kind regards,
