Hello all

I'm trying to determine how I can market myself in these trying times for jobs in the developer field again (using Java or course). I have experience in web & software development, using java, PHP, ASP, and Perl. I also have experience in other aspects such as server & network administration with Windows/UNIX, various databases(MSSQL, Mysql), webservers(Apache, IIS, a bit of Tomcat), and project management through other companies and through my former business. However I haven't' done any development work for three years, and am worried that my lack of experience with coding since my last gig wont' help my chances. I'm also currently doing some courses to help scrape the rust off my coding skills and have been doing development work off and on in my own time.

So I guess what I'm trying to ask is how should I go about selling my skills to a prospective employer? Should I focus on the complete range of skills gathered, or only those that would pertain to my coding experience? Would marking that I am presently taking course hinder my chances?

Any advice would be appreciated.
It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
