Hi,

I am a developer and have recently started coding web services (on weblogic). In our development environment, the way we do it is after coding is done we fire a sample request and check the response. For this we use a "in-house" tool that basically accepts an XML SOAP request and the webservice (.jws) URL.

My question is -- do we have better tools for this purpose? How do web service developers generally go about doing Unit testing/debugging?

Responses appreciated.

Hi Sachin,
you can use TCPMON for incoming and outgoing SOAP responses.

Hi!

Maybe you should have a look at SoapUI. I use it often to create SOAP Requests and it is also possible to generate Test Suites out of the created Requests.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
