I was recently contacted by a visa consultant..He said there are good opportunities in Denmark and he can get a work permit for me...He said total charge incurred would be around 60,000 INR($1400) ....

How is the java job market in Denmark and can i easily move to other European counties if I get a dannish work permit..

He sent me the following mail..

Welcome to the ever green international job market and all those aspiring souls who intend to make a career in the Europe market. We brings you this opportunity of a Danish Green Card which is simple and flexible.

What you can do with the Denmark Green Card

1. You can move freely in all the 26 Countries in Schengen. (List of Schengen Countries )
2. You can work in Denmark Legally.
3. You can apply for Permanent Citizenship of Denmark
4. Options of obtaining other countries Work Permits very-very easy once we have Denmark Green Card
5. Can Travel with family.

There are no good opportunities anywhere right now, neither in Denmark or elsewhere, crisis is worldwide and no country is safe.
Anyway if USA always react first and quick to any crisis, whole Europe is hit afterwards the same way, not as hard but crisis last much longer. So going to Denmark or anywhere in Europe for work is a very bad idea right now, US seems to begin recovery but Europe is diving into depression.

And still in any case, paying ANY COMPANY for working is ALWAYS a very bad idea, you have to be paid for your work at a company, not having to pay a company for being allowed to work.
This is the very same kind of fraud used by H1B bodyshoppers, simply ignore them.

Certainly a big lie: you can move to any EEC European country only if you are a citizen of one of these countries. If a Danish GC exists it must be a local work permit worth in Denmark only.
A project of European Green Card existed for whole EEC some time ago, led by Germany in particular, but I believe it was dropped.

Points 1 and 4 are certainly big lies, only citizenship allows free access to Schengen Countries, not a local Danish GC probably valid in Denmark only.

You should forward this email to Danish consulate so that they check whether it is a fraud, it looks like it to me.

Best regards.

Hi all,

Arjun Shastry wrote:I too got call regarding green card for Denmark for $1300.The same agency used to process UK HSMP visa too.

Honestly, it stinks, I don't like it, looks like a big swindle to me.
Officially AFAIK no green card system exists in EEC except in Ireland: Ireland - Green Card Work Permits.
Everywhere in EEC exist local work permits with different local names, for UK for example: UK Immigration and UK Visa Service. Each EEC country has his own rules, and local work permits AFAIK do NEVER allow to work in another EEC country. Of course EEC citizens are allowed to work in any EEC country without any work permit, this is something else, work permits are required by non EEC citizens anyway to be allowed to work.

So perhaps these guys call EEC local work permits "Green Cards" by analogy to US system, but it is certainly not the legal term at all, no such legal term exists in EEC except in Ireland and it is very recent (2007).

It looks like these guys sell their sponsorship to a local EEC work permit, which is obviously illegal. I suggest to forward their emails to UK and Danish consulates to check what they think about it, but it strongly looks like a swindle to me.

Best regards.

When I first saw this post, I thought to myself "it sounds too good to be true and looks like a scam", but didn't want to say anything without being too sure.

You can wait and keep searching for jobs in Denmark. I agree there are fewer vacant positions in Denmark in current recession period.

http://www.ambnewdelhi.um.dk/en/menu/WorkinDenmark/Situation+in+the+Danish+labour+market.htm?wbc_purpose=Basic&WBCMODE=PresentationUnpublished

But same was not true few months back. Denmark opened its first 'Work In Denmark' center outside EU (in India). And they were planning a job fair in India in Oct 2008.

http://www.ambnewdelhi.um.dk/en/servicemenu/News/PRESSRELEASENEWFASTTRACKROUTEFORINDIANPROFESSIONALSWISHINGTOWORKINDENMARKOctober232008.htm?wbc_purpose=Basic&WBCMODE=PresentationUnpublished

Also regarding the points mentioned under 'What you can do with the Denmark Green Card'. They appear true to me because I have worked in Germany for 2 years. Your work permit allows you to travel to most of countries (for leisure trips and not for work) and 2nd points clearly states the eligibility to work in Denmark only.

Denmark is good places to search for opportunities but as other members have mentioned don't fall in traps of some fraudy visa agents.

And check for all latest news regarding Denmark on their Embassy site (http://www.ambnewdelhi.um.dk) and even visa process is very simple.

Hi Eric,

I haven't got any reply from the embassy folks till now..So probably it looks like they don't consider this as fraud..

Rambo aren't you supposed to have a job offer from a company in Denmark first?
