Well I have been pretty regular at SCWCD forum for obvious reasons.

However whenever I have a query I always try to go through older posts and use the "search" facility in the forum. I feel there should have been more options for customized searches in the forum, would make browsing through search results easier.

For instance, all the posts where search term was found should be clubbed together depending on which topic they belong to. Even if search results is found once one has to go through the entire thread. Giving how many times searched term is occurring in a particular topic, user can attach higher relevance to it.

Similarly some basic sorting facility should be there based on date, last post update in the topic etc.

Not that I am cribbing but would add to use experience. Pardon me if this is not even the right forum to post feedbacks !!!

I highly agree with this. Especially in the "My Posts" link (same 'search' technology applies here), if the results are sorted base on the date of the "Last Post", it would be a lot of advantage. I told this before, but it seems that no one agree with me on that.

It's not disagreement so much as it is that there are higher priorities at the moment. We've been on the new software less than 3 months (it feels like longer) and are still dealing with some growing pains.

I though you are disagree with my request, as I see your last message on that thread. It's nice to hear that you don't disagree with that.

Unfortunately, currently I'm spending about 2-3 minutes to check the "My Posts" list, by checking the "Last Post" column at every message. When my post count will be increased up to 10k, I will have to spent several hours to check the "My Post" list. Hopefully, I believe that the search technology (especially the sorting order) will be improved in near future.

I dont' agree; I don't disagree. I don't have an opinion on the matter yet. Mainly because I am working on the higher priority items and don't have time to spare thought cycles on this.

Why? What are you trying to accomplish? "My posts" isn't meant to see whether someone replied to your posts.

Why? Isn't it better if we can use "My Posts" for that purpose too? Isn't it very useful? Otherwise we have to set "Watches" to all of our messages, which seems not so good. For sure, I think Jeanne you didn't add watches to all of your messages. So, if someone post a reply to a message which you posted in several days ago, how do you get notified?

I see there as being two sets of users on this site:
1) Users who post infrequently (or up to a few threads a day) - The profile can be set to automatically set watches for every thread you reply to. That way these users don't have to remember to set a watch when posting and get notification.
2) Power users (like me) - I suspect the majority, if not all, of such users have turned off watches altogether. I also suspect these users do not go methodically looking through their recent posts for replies. We tend to look at the same forums every day we post. The next time we go on, the same threads look "interesting" and we click them again to see the reply. This is try whether the next time we post is the next day or a week later. When someone replies, the thread is more recent in the thread list and I'll see it that way.

Trying your way: I went into "my posts" and looked at the threads I posted in yesterday. Yes, I did have to look through the list of threads. That said, this is the first time I've ever done so making it something that is a use case for me.

I do understand it has value for you. My best suggestion is to bump this thread in three months when things have calmed down so we can reconsider it.

I use the "My Posts" to see if someone has replied to a thread I've participated in, but it's pretty difficult to figure it out with the multiple-entries-per-thread (and the bump if somebody just edits their post), and I suspect I've missed a few opportunities to follow up. A timestamp would help, but I'd sure appreciate a different way to keep track of threads.
