No there weren't question on DD and XML . I had the same fear as the book i referred "EJB 3.0 in action" does not have that great detailed explanation on DD and XML. Just go throught the EJB 3.0 specs. Some important topics like Transaction Management (CMT and BMT), Exception handling need to be referred from the EJB 3.0 spec, also go through the some of the JPA examples in JPA spec. For the remaining part EJB 3.0 in action would be sufficient

What all books you referred? Mocks? Preparation Time?

Good to hear that there are no questions on the DD. Given the fact that the exam guide is absent, the DD questions can cause lotz of pain

Hi all,

This is my first post in JavaRanch.
I am a novice in EJB, but planning to take SCBCD 5.0 exam.
The reason is that, though I have worked on other ORM tools such as Hibernate/TopLink, I feel like I am missing even some of the basic concepts of Object Persistance since such tools take care of most of our work by themselves.
And from the threads on EJB in JavaRanch, I could get that EJB 3 is much different compared to the previous versions of EJB and understanding EJB 2 is much required for development skills in EJB (As per my understanding).
So please guide me in the areas/books that I need to cover for better understanding of EJB 2/3 and for passing the certification in SCBCD 5.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
