Why North Indian wishes that South Indian too like their Shole Bhature?

Why South Indian dont leave their Curd Rice and try Shole Bhature for somedays?

People eat what they like. Isn't this true anywhere in the world.

It is true that people eat what they like. But it doesnt mean that others food is not good. Right?

i see many peoples in south india, if you ask them to try new items of food, before started tasting they set their mind that the food is not good and many are not all interested in trying new ones.hope that may be a reason

I am neither a South Indian or a North Indian. I am a West Indian , well not from the country West Indies , but as in the western part of India.

I have never tried Curd Rice but am VERY confident that I wont like it and so maybe even if I did try it , my mind wud tell my tongue and taste buds not to like it - Somethings you just cant explain.

BTW - Now you have made me miss Chole Bhatoore

Chetan,

Would you like to try half-grown chicken embryos ? The Vietnamese love it.

How about a desert made of coagulated lamb's blood ? Its called Black Pudding.

How about Hagis ?

Get the point ? A person's food preferences are shaped by what they have grown up on.

I think Chetan is not denying that. His question is about why people don't give a try over new things.I think trying new things depends on culture in which person is brought up.
Personally I get bored if I don't try new food items.Whether its curd rice,Idlis or Chhole Bhature or Dhokla I can't eat everyday the same food.!

Who has said that other's food is not good. They don't want to try. There was one guy in my previous company who forced to ate curd rice for 2 days because there was no other and later said that he had become madrasi.

This may be the comment of an individual. But not all people are feeling same.I am not South Indian, but I am big fan of Curd Rice and Sambhar.

Chetan
I think you are generalizing the things not all south Indians have this problem. So be specific to your query.
Analyze and find out who exactly are they. And I'm sure,8 out of 10 will have problem with sweat sambar of Karnataka , EXTRA spicy sambar of Andhra etc.

Ironically, in parties, if they are not watched by any so called north indian, then they will eat only Roties, Paneer Buttur Masalas, Jeera Rise etc.

guess why ???

Ravi Parulekar, I have just taken South Indian/North Indian as well as food as just an example.

I just want to convey that why people from once place dont give a try to indignities [food/language/culture/habit] of other place.

Pradeep Bhat, this is not good. You should not shy to eat what you like.

I can understand, your intentions are good. But the things doesn't work always the way we want.
I was bit disappointed with the generalization part alone. What all I mean is out of four south indian states only few people from one particular state has these issues.
Moreover, they do not have issues only with so called north indians but also with fellow south indians and hence they don't like sweet sambar of Karnataka and Spicy sambhar of Andhra.

To understand food/language/culture/habit related issues better, you have to work in Chennai. There are many surprises like this..

Ravi,No need to go Chennai.
I used to share a flat with....
A guy from Manipur (Extreme North-East State of India and people of these states 100% looks like Chinese),
A guy from Delhi (North Indian state and he was typical Delhi guy).
A guy from Hyderabad (South Indian State)
Me from Gujarat (West Indian state).
We were 4 people from four different culture.
