I think most of the books published for android are all suited for beginners, and yes Unlocking Android is one of them!

I would like to know from the authors if the book also covers the understanding of the Android Architecture and internals. Like topics on the Libaries, Dalvik VM and how the design of the VM optimizes on memory. As developers how can we benefit from the same and write optimal apps., also further info on how to use dx tool with options.
