Don't worry about rain. Even if Singapore has more rain fall compare to Mumbai, still they must be having far advanced drainage system compare to Mumbai.

One time I was in a tropical country in a time that locals called "rain period". That was Cuba.
I found the system of "rain" over there much better than in Germany.
A rainy day in Germany is grey sky all day and some rain drops falling most of the time.
In contrast rain period in Cuba is a sunny day until 16:30. At 16:30 huuugee clouds start to build up in the blue sky. Next the clouds are turning dark as if this is the last day of our planet. And finally lots of rain fall out of the clouds in a short period of time.
At 18:00 the sky clears up and its sunny again.
That cuban model of rain must be harder for drainage but it is definetly better for a day at the beach.

Singapore is very nice place. When it rains carry an umbrella. It has very good public transport. No cold weather or snow. I am willing to spend my rest of my life there.

Perfect, fits correct for any tropical country like S'pore. I can vouch for it as I am here for the last one year. But currently due to the forest fire in Indonesia, it is a bit hazy. But that is temporary. For more info abt S'pore see this link.
