While J2ME has an implementation of the JSR 82 (Java Bluetooth API), J2SE has none.

There are two ways. Either your device is handled transparently by the operating system /drivers. Then you don't (and can't) access it by hand. You would use the device as it is known to the OS, e.g. as a serial port or using a supplied internet connection.

Or you use a JSR 82 implementation for J2SE, namely Bluecove (http://www.bluecove.org). This way you have access to the raw bluetooth data and operations like device and service discovery.
