Is it possible to make a word document editable inside browser?

When the document is saved it should be uploaded back to server to save the changed copy.

No. You'll need to download the file and upload when done. Or use a document management system that already handles this.

Is it possible - Yes. Google's done it (Google Doc's) and so has Zoho.

But i agree with Bear - Its not something that you can usually do - upload and download seem a reasonable solution.
