Hello,

If I deploy the all .tld files in .jar and put the jar in WEB-INF/lib of the webapp
Do not I need to specify the <taglib> entry in DD ?

If I deploy the all .tld files directly in WEB-INF of the webapp
Do I must need to specify the <taglib> entry in DD ?

Can someone tell how this works in in JSP 2.0 and greater , and before JSP 2.0 ?

Thanks
Kathir

Before JSP2.0, you had to declare the library. But for JSP2.0 and above, you don't need to declare the library in the Deployment Descriptor, as the container is smart enough to look for the TLDs himself.

Hi Christophe,

For the exam,
Should I answer based on older version like before JSP 2.0 ?

Thanks

No. Everything is about JSP2.0, not about older version.

Hi Kathiresan,
Before studying for the exam, I think you should go through the exam objectives including the jsp, servlet and jstl version. This will help you to prepare better and you will know which version of spec to look for.
All the best.
