I'm having 4 years of experience, changed 3 companies. But, I have seen my onsite team people who started as Functional Analyst and become product manager and working for 13 years in same company.

20 years, 1 company.

I started here when I was 3 years old. That's my story and I'm sticking to it.

Depends. Were you on fries, burgers, drive-thru, or cashier?

I have 28 years on the same job. In the same chair. And the same card punch machine. We did upgrade to 9-track tape recently, though. I might be kidding about that part.

9-track tape? You lucky dog. We still have to work with eight-tracks here.

Then I think the BK experience will help. It is kind of like being in the service. You get some things like discipline, loyalty, and free food.

9 jobs over a span of 28 years.

Longest gig: 13 years, 7 months

Shortest gig: 3 days

That doesn't count military time, teaching in a graduate evening program, or writing books.

Free food...Second half of my career at BK, they got all cheapo of us and made it half price!

Today I miss the smell of grease in my hair 24-7. Maybe not!

Reason for my 3 jobs
1. contract - expired (company bought out by another, cut all contracts)
2. contract - lost (new company picked up contract said no raises for 3. next few years)
3. current job - (going insane)

7 years, 10 months - 3 Jobs

7 years 1 job.
next job 5 months, that was about 5 months too long.
currently 5 months on new job.

Doesn't include military time either.

It certainly helped me. While at school I was pretty lazy, but while doing a weekend/evening job in BK I thought to myself "If I screw up my exams and don't get to university then I'll be doing jobs like this for the rest of my career". It was a good motivational exercise, and I worked a lot harder because of it!

Eurgh, that was the worst bit. I hated coming home from a shift in the kitchen to find that even a scalding hot bath and some normal food couldn't get rid of the smell, feel and taste of grease. I still dislike going to burger places like that, just stepping through the door and inhaling that awful smell again makes me lose my appetite.

now I know where I went astray...
There were no Burger Kings when I was that age (indeed the first McD only opened when I was well on my way to graduation and that one appeared years before the first BK).
Can I sue BK for not giving me a chance to gain life experience and motivation as a student for the reason of them not having a franchise where I lived?

I bet its a bit different now. There seems to be a McDonalds, Pizza Hut, BK, etc just about everywhere. It wouldn't surprise me if there's one in the Antarctic. I even saw a programme on the telly a while back showing an American school which had a Pizza Hut inside it instead of a kitchen!

What next? A McDonalds franchise at the back of the plane? BK in the local library?
