Which part are you stuck on?
The servlet that delivers the file or the client app that requests it?

Depending on your needs you might not even need a servlet on the server side.
If you put the file in a web accessible directory on your app/web server your client should be able to pull it down as it would any web page.

Ben , reason why we need servlet is , it is not static files as the file was generated on demand based on request from the Standalone app. The part i got struck was clent side.

The main thing to consider is it is not single file but multiple files, but i planned to give single request and get series of file continously . is it possible? if not please tell how to send the date from servlet to client.

i need the transport part. Is it like writing the data to stream and reading back the stream to files or any other way?
