Would be interesting to know how much cost-saving they expect from that (without considering the drop of motivation among the employees).

What keeps us active, stay late and work hard is a cup of coffee and if that isn't there people would start yawning after lunch

Engineers in morning -
Engineers after lunch -

If there were so much interested to cut costs they can ask employees to work from home. This could save them a lot of infrastructure and maintenance costs.

I don't understand how much the company expects to save by cutting coffee. Instead of wasting time in thinking of cost cutting they can think of better ways of investing in business in these tough times.

In a company I worked before, company management put cloth napkin (one big one) instead of paper napkins (multiple) to wipe hands after hand wash. You know what happend? In one day the white cloth napkin color changed to dark color and people started getting infections and most of the people tood medical leave for a week

These companies earns profits in billions and when it comes to cost cutting they try to save pea nuts.

Coffee is evil, to me at least. I stopped my coffee habit two years ago and feel better now.

Stupid decision. Coffee costs pennies compared to the lost productivity you'll have from caffeine deprived developers. A decision made by bean counters who can't seem to measure anything unless it is on a balance sheet.

This move will not save them money.

How much they can save ? or they just want to show that they are doing cost cutting.
