Hi there! My problem is as follows: I need to type on my phone with a character set which can’t be chosen for input. The character set (cyrillic) shows and copies fine everywhere on the phone (file names, SMS etc.), but one can’t input that. So I’m creating a simple textbox program to input and then copy the text to be used elsewhere (eg. pasted as an SMS). I’m trying with this very simple code using the setInitialInputMode method:

However, the phone ignores setInitialInputMode("UCB_CYRILLIC"); and switches to english...
Please help me. I’m basically learning to code in Java just to solve this problem... What am I doing wrong?

Thank you.

Hi,

by convention(not mandatory) java classes should be named using Capitalized chars, so Suggest you to change the class name.

About input modes take a look to see valid entries at:

http://java.sun.com/javame/reference/apis/jsr118/javax/microedition/lcdui/TextField.html#modes

also take a look at javadocs for JME at:

http://java.sun.com/javame/reference/apis/jsr118/
