Some years ago, a friend (housemate) of mine and I adopted this as our standard non-denominational Christmas-time benediction: "Happy winter solstice festivity of your choosing." Well... now that takes on a whole new meaning.



However...

WHEN?
Winter Solstice Day - Friday, December 22nd,
at the time of your choosing, in the place of your choosing and with as much privacy as you choose

What a bunch of candy-ass newage wankers (yes, literally). If you're going to choose the winter solstice, choose the solstice. It's not "at the time of your choosing", it's at 00:22 GMT, Dec 22. Period. (For 2006, anyway.) Don't be late.
