Hi people,

I am playing with EL functions and I would like to know if we can access to methods of a returned object.

Let's see if I can explain better, I have a function that returns a Color, I call it like this:

So it returns the Color and I can access his properties, the code of the color for example:

But this class has a (really stupid) method that returns a String to be printed in the screen called printString:

Is possible, having the Color access this method? I have tryed to do:

and other combinations but I cannot access the method printString, my questions are:
Is possible to access this methods directly?
Is there any good guide about EL functions in the Internet?
What I have found doesn't tell me too much...

Thanks in advance for your answers.

I edit this to add that I use Apache Tomcat 6.0.18 and JSP 2.1

No. By design, the EL is limited to properties and cannot invoke general methods.
