A Thompson Technologies client has an immediate opening for a Sr. Java Engineer in Alpharetta for a 6 month contract.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing and developing new applications based on a large data-centric system using technologies such as Java, J2EE, Oracle 10, Web/XML, Solaris, etc. and participate in the full software development lifecycle. Responsibilities to include analysis, design, coding, testing, documentation and support. Must work with Management, Marketing, QC, Support, and other engineers in the group.

US Citizen or permanent resident (green card holder) ONLY.

Required Skills:

6+ years of software development experience required
5+ years of solid Java programming experience required
3+ years of J2EE development
Must have solid Struts development experience
3+ years of Oracle RDBMS and SQL experience required
3+ years of UNIX development required; Solaris preferred
Strong analytical and problem solving skills required
Excellent communications and writing skills required
Must be a quick learner and a self-starter
Experience programming in PL/SQL is a plus
Experience with OOD, UML modeling tools and the use of design patterns
Ability to operate in a team environment and under tight deadlines
