HATS is an application that allows a developer to convert mainframe (zseries) and iseries legacy applications to a web interface. This is done by using Java servlets and JSP's to transform the screen from a TN3270 or TN5250 session to a true web interface. It is an extremely powerful tool and can be used to provide not only a one to one relationship for the screens but can be used to combine those screens into a more usable interface with all of the nice GUI widgets that JSP and HTML allow.
It is a licensed product but a trial version is supplied with Rational Application Developer which is required to design the transformations.

The trial can be found at http://www.ibm.com/developerworks/downloads/r/rad/?S_TACT=105AGX28&S_CMP=TRIALS

Not by itself. HATS can transform the TN3270/TN5250 screens to web services or standard web pages. If you use HATS to convert your TN3270/TN5250 sessions to web services then you could use those with an interface that implements ISO 8283. When used as web services you can reference them using any other tools that can consume web services including Java and build any type of interface that you would require.

Sorry I don't.

I would suggest that you contact your IBM/Rational sales rep. as they have been known to provide assistance with getting an initial proof of concept application up and running using HATS, many times for free. It partly depends on the number of licenses that you might ultimately purchase if the project is accepted and funded. You can go to the link HATS Product Page to get a trial or to contact someone at IBM to get back to you about a proof of concept. I do not work for IBM so I have no vested interest but I would strongly suggest you discuss it with them as the have helped me and my company in the past to implement a web front end to some legacy TN3270 applications. They won't do the coding for you but they can provide expertise that would make designing and coding the application much simpler.
