As events are unfolding, it seems that Woolmer was murdered than being dying of stress.
the cricket was originally developed during days of British Empire and played by gentlemen and nobles
But it seems it is now controlled by mafias and betting syndicates.

I thought mafias would be there only in politics but It really pains to see that the game which was loved and watched by many people like me is now controlled by the betting Mafias who have such long hands that they can even snatch the life of a respected coach (maybe just because he was about to expose them in a book or his team lost in the cup.)

The popularity of the cricket in the subcontinent has lead to special class of fanatical fans who beleive cricket is a war and see players like gladiators. This has lead to pouring of large sponsorships into the game and this has lead to betting(Indo-Pak matches being best example-are being bet for millons $ in dubai) and now finally it has slipped into the hands of these mafias.
Cricket will never be same .and this worldcup will be remembered more for his murder than anything else.

I feel the soul of cricket has been seriously hurt by the Woolmer incident. Its time that the government of these countries take control over these betting and match fixing issues. And remember its not just subcontinent. Some South African players e.g. Gibbs were also involved some years ago. As long as players are not willing to be sold, there is nothing to be bought for the bookies.

There is no evidence to suggest betting or match fixing or mafia involvelement. "He was probably murdered by someone he knew" is the conclusion so far. He/She was probably a cricket fanatic who just couldnt take it.

For those of you who dont follow it as yet, Bob Woolmer was the coach for the Pakistan cricket team and he was recently murdered hours after Pakistan became the first team to be ousted out of this cricket world cup following an embarrasing defeat to first time debutants, Ireland.

"Hansie Cronje had been murdered "--suggests Clive Rice, former SA bowler.....Though there is not much proof to back it up, I personally feel that it might be true....After Cronje had confessed about everything before the King's Commission, something might've pricked his conscience and he might've decided to reveal everything....but that was not to be....The so-called plane crash may've been a murder rather than an accident.....In Woolmer's case, the culprits failed to set it up as a natural death(or an accident)....what's even worse for them is the fact that it's Scotland Yard who's stepped in now....Honestly speaking, I don't trust the ICC guys as well....I think a hell lot of a people are involved in this shit....Scotland Yard might spill the beans on a lot of people involved with cricket in some way or the other(at least that's something I hope)....It's high time that cricket goes through some kind of a cleansing action.....It's reached it's worst low ever

murky things rarely come out in open.
many still believe Cronje was bumped off by an powerful South African betting syndicate beacuse he was about to reveal much more.
And according to leaked e-mail written by Woolmer to a PAK journalist he said was writing a book on matchfixing.LINk PAGE and now the journalist refuses to reveal himself because he fears threat to his life.
certainly there is a big dark side to cricket dominated by bookies.

lets hope Scotland yard solves this murder

These things are very much possible. But if they are proved right the viewership ratings will come crashing down
