Hey Everyone;

What the code below does is count the number of lines(steps) i have on a Jtable and then check to see how many items are in each step. Items can have different ratings being from 1,3,5 or 7. The loops I have below count the number of items with each ratings in the "count" section. For each line of code displayed is the name of the step and the total number in the step.

My question is if there is a better way to change the size of a rectangle more smoothly? Each step is going to have either a number of items with the 1,3,5 or 7 rating, which is changing ever time step. I want to refresh the size of these rectangles more smoothly and quickly (close to real time).

The code below is its own class that gets called as a canvas within another class that class the super.paint(g).

Any help is appreciated! Thank you!
