Hi all,

Was just wondering whether Andrew's book covers the semantics of creating build scripts??Considering doing SCJD before SCBCD so that I can understand build scripts.SCBCD is giving me hell! Now that I think about it,maybe it would help me understand locking topics too....Does dependacy injection feature in SCJD??

Ant scripts? SCJD doesn't require you to use ant script to build your programs so to speak. The building part is really "javac ..... then jar ....." Of course ant can be used.

Using EJB concepts to the OO design of the SCJD project is a good idea (eg 3 tier with service layer ... service layer is really EJB concepts if it were a Java EE project) at least that's how I think.

Not sure about if SCJD can use dependency injection. But it surely does use delegation design pattern. Are these 2 connected?

Not really. In EJB 3, the JEE container has the control over your application, that's why you can use @Resource, for instance. In SCJD, all you have to do is build a client/server system.

So would it be easier for me to do SCBCD if I did SCJD first instead??

Hummm... no. The difficulty would be the same, since they don't really have much to do with each other.
