Unchained Melody beats them all. Complex, rich, and powerful. I wanted to link the "Ghost" version, but YouTube requires additional steps to listen to that one. You know why.

Ah, yes... Now that you mention it, there's an incredible version of "Unchained Melody" by (Little) Jimmy Scott on his compilation, Lost and Found. The emotion in his voice is beyond words.

(I just found there's a Jimmy Scott documentary, If You Only Knew, available on DVD. I need to get it. Thanks for mentioning the song!)

Allmusic has a nice 30-second sample: Jimmy Scott - Lost & Found.

The most romantic song for me will always be that one that I listened to for the first time while being present at the slightly windy (but not too windy) gentle beaches and gentle surf in the north coast of the Island of Puerto Rico when I was 19 and she was 18 and I, well, heard the following song for the first time: Ahhhh!!!

So difficult to choose just one favorite, but since this is JavaRanch, I have to go with "You Shouldn't Kiss Me Like This" by Toby Keith.

I like it too... But my favorites are "Liberian Girl - Michael Jackson", "All That I Need and - Ronan Keating (I think it's him, but not the Boyzone one)", "Truly, Madly, Deeply - (don't know the artist, but not the Savage Garden one)", "Thank You - Dido", "Mockingbird - Eminem".

I can't rate the above songs 1, 2, 3 cause I love each and every one of them so much. And I included Mockingbird cause Eminem touches my heart in this song, the way he shows his love for his daughter is amazing in this song...

Do I have anyone's favorite in my list?

I'm not much into romantic songs, but I always thought Unchained Melody by The Righteous Brothers was a cut above the rest.
