I want to use itext for generating pdf's but I am wondering about (better?) alternatives.

Are there any?

Besides, is there a way to use latex within a java-source and generate this latex to pdf?

Would this be a better approach?

If your data source is XML, then Apache FOP may be a solution.

If your data is CSS-styled XHTML, then the Flying Saucer library may do the trick.

But it depends on what -in your opinion- constitutes a "better" solution.

Hi,

I have been using Jasper for generating PDF. It contains Jasper Assistant tool which is very easy to design PDF. It creates the .jrxml file which converts into .jsper after compilation.

Thanks and regards,
Prabhat Kumar.
