After working in CMS domain for about two years I noticed the following.
- Most of the CMS products works in combination with portals. You need to have knowledge of portals.
- You need to learn atleast one enterprise CMS product like Documentum or Vignette.
- Learning OpenCMS may give you basic idea but I don't think only knowing OpenCMS can get you a job in India.
- I don't recommend someone to learn CMS products just by knowing JSP.
You should have good understanding of
web services, JMS, basic workflow concepts, dabase design, content analysis etc.
Perhaps you try to focus more on improving your programming expertise by doing
SCJP and other certifications.
