hi,

I have bought one book but by mistaken I got ejb2.0. Is it good that first read ejb2.0 and after completing this go for ejb3.0? Will it help me because i want to give SCBCD (EJB3.0) certification.

Hi Ankit,

I think it would be better to save the extra time for learning EJB 2.x and instead start with EJB 3.0!

Unfortunately I don't know very much details of EJB 2.x but from what I know I can tell you that 2.x and 3.0 are VERY different! Also EJB 3.0 has lots of improvements which makes it easier to learn, too. It's not like java 1.5 and 1.6 where you have a common foundation with "only" a few improvements and extensions in the newer version. So I'd say it's not worth the time to learn EJB 2.x

Do not waste your time and money learning EJB 2.x

It's QUITE different EJB 3.0 !!

I passed EJB 2.x certification a few years ago and let me tell you that now I am learning EJB 3.0 ,it has a lot, aaaa lot of improvements indeed..

as Marco said previously, it's really easy to learn, specially if you have some Hibernate background,

So I recommend you to learn EJB 3.0, you would love it
