Jude UML works on both linux and windows

MagicDraw Community. In my opinion this has the best interface compared to StarUML and Jude which I have all tried when working on the assignment.

It's not open source but you can use the Community edition for the assignment.

But please note that there are limits to that version regarding the number of objects you can create.
