hi,

I have worked on core java. Now I'am assigned work on Blackberry. Can anyone help regarding the books available for blackberry applications in java. I' am absolutely new to this field. It does relate to j2me, but it has its own api. Any sources where I can find some clear explanation for understanding and developing applications?

Thanking you,
with regards,

Hi,

I' am told that there is no concrete material for blackberry and the net is the only source. As i'am absolutely new to blackberry, having only knowledge in j2se and basic knowledge in j2ee, can I post my queries to javaranch on blackberry applications.
If yes, can a seperate forum be created for blackberry applications.

regards,
Komal

you can download the blackberry JDE from this link
http://na.blackberry.com/eng/developers/resources/devtools.jsp

If you are using eclipse then you can download the eclipse plugin also from same link.
After installation of JDE you can find sample in
..\Research In Motion\BlackBerry JDE 4.7.0\samples

Hi,

A question has been troubling me for a few days.
Is J2me a prerequisite for blackberry or can it be learnt without any knowledge on j2me.

regards,
Komal

Blackberry has its ownapi which is written on J2ME. You can directly work on blackberry api but It will be good if you try out some samples of J2ME first. There are lot of samples in sun Sun Wireless ToolKit. You can easily download it from sun site .

If you open the box, you will find Heisenberg strangling Shrodenger's cat. And waving this tiny ad:
