Hello everybody,

I have a problem and till this day I have no solution. I searched for this problem but nothing helps.

I have a webapplication with JSF and it's necessary to call them with "input.jsf?client=".

For the first time, it's no problem. I saved the client parameter into my backing bean during the session. But after a session timeout I've lost the client value. Because the url is only "input.jsf".

The problem is, I have no chance to type the url again so I need the url with parameter all the time.

Have somebody a solution for this problem?

Many thanks

Jana

Passing a parameter in on a JSF URL is possible, though not pretty. As you've noted, however, it only works on the original (GET) page request. JSF views postback using POST, and POST gets its variables from the returned data stream, not the URL.

You can use PrettyFaces for a cleaner method to passing in URL parameters, but even that won't help once you've done the initial GET and start processing postbacks.

Basically, anything that you want to survive a session timeout needs some sort of persistent store. Or in your case, maybe a cookie would help.
