I haven't read O'Reilly's, but Manning's EJB3 In Action is very good.

The two books are good. Personally I pick EJB in Action which has a lighter and more interesting sample application.
I also recommend EJB 3 Developer Guide (http://www.packtpub.com/developer-guide-for-ejb3/book) for begingers

Hi,

I also haven't read the EJB 3 by oreilly. But I read the EJB 3 in Action and it is a great book and It is very simpler to understand the concepts through their ActionBazaar example.

It is sorta covered in the JavaRanch Style Guide.
