Hi All
I am getting "Object Expected" error on a page, though the same page loads properly on some other machines. We are calling a javascript function on that line. I've tried clearing the cache and all, but still doesn't work on my machine.
Since this works on some machines, I am sure there is no issue with the code, but i may be missing some settings.
Using IE 6

Any clue to resolve this will be very helpful.

Thanks

Jhakda

Do you not think it might be somewhat helpful to actually show us the code?

Hi
Thanks for your prompt reply.
Here is the line which throws this error on some machines(all using IE6)

calculate() method is available in commonFunc.js and it is included in my page as

Any clue why this works on 1 machine and not on the other?

Thanks

Jhakda,

The forum screwed up your code. Can you please repost it and make sure to check the checkbox "Disable HTML in this message"

Hi
When i paste my line of code, barring image tag, everything else is "cleansed".
Had used code tags to no avail
So edited my last post to just show the method being called.

Thanks
Jhakda

Hi
Yeah, pasting the problematic line again.
And thanks for pointing out how to resolve it

Hope it appears fine now.
And thanks folks for replying before i could figure out how to resolve why the line was not appearing as it should have

Thanks

If you're not going to show us code, you're unlikely to get much in the way of help.

Hi
Thanks for your interest, however, as i do not own the code, i can't paste the entire code here. I can assure that the same page loads properly on some machines.
Rephrasing the question, in what ways may a javascript function not get loaded by the browser? I had googled and found this link
JS Workshop

Thanks

Hi All
I got the script files checked on the server to find that the calculate method missing from the .js file, so that resolves why things were not working. However, what surprises me is that it worked on some machines, we got the cache and temp files cleared on those machines, but still can't figure out why its working on it.
Any clue why this strange behavior? We had a new deployment done and since then we are facing the issue.

Thanks
Jhakda

Hi All
Another update on this, the deployment team sort of messed up while deploying. Since ours is a load balanced system, they messed up while copying the js file on one of the servers. This may serve as a point on the checklist for resolving similar issue.
Thanks all, especially Eric and Bear, for the time.
