Why <c:set var=..></c:set> will not accepts <jsp:attribute> inside the body

Sorry, the correct type is <jsp:attribute name="value">${userName}</jsp:attribute>. In 'name' attribute we must specify the attribute name of the parent tag.(in this case <c:set var="id" value=...>). Works for <c:set target=...>version also.The same is true for custom tags. Thankyou.
