perform 'onClick' / run javascript method

Hey Guys!
Assume there's a (foreign) website with a button, the code to wich contains something like 'onClick="doSomething(arg1, arg2)"'.
How can i make a java-program perform this 'onClick' (or run the 'doSomething' method directly)?!

(hope this is the right forum for something like this)

The onclick method as you have specified it would execute a Javascript method. Since Javascript runs inside the browser,
I don't think you can duplicate the functionality easily with Java. If the javascript method is setting form parameters and submitting them, you could just submit a form using java.net.URL.

I just want my program to 'click the button' automatically - without me doing anything (is that what you call remote?)
I mean, if my browser is able to tell the site when i clicked the button, shouldnt i be able to make a java application do the same?

No. A Java program can't access anything in the browser.

I don't want to access the browser with my program. But shouldn't it be possible to make my java application send the very same data the browser normally sends when i click the button? Shouldn't i be able to make the site think i clicked the button like this?

Search for "Java Auto Clicker", I am sure that is basically what you want.

That's a horse of a different color. You might want to look at projects like HttpClient to help create requests under program control.
