Can we have functionality for User's Profile information as in Orkut or Facebook.

Currently we can create public and private page of a user but it does not fulfill the requirement.

How can change the settings so that user will decide what part of the profile to be displayed to public or which is to be shown to friends or community members etc.

For further details see this link :-

Thanks in advance.

Hi Anand,

You may use the profile portlet (so-portlet) and hooks to implement these requirements.

The chapter 10 of the book liferay-portal-5-2-systems-development does provide solution.

Thanks
