Hi,

I am using UCM (Universal Content Management) – old name Stellent – with WebLogic Portal.
Has anyone integrated UCM with WebLogic Portal’s VCR (Virtual Content Repository) using SPI (Service Provider Implementation)? As far as I know UCM is JSR-170 compliant so it should be well integrated with WebLogic Portal’s VCR.
If anyone has done it please share your experience.

Thanks.

Hi,

I have implemented the Weblogic Portals 10.3 with the UCM using the VCR.
Its not so easy as written. But at last I reach the destination

Thanks,

Thanks Vinod for replying.

I have few specific questions.

1. Did you use UCM adapter to integrate UCM with VCR?
2. UCM stores content in XML format. How did you render them in browser? Did you write XSLT yourself or UCM adapter provides something for it?
3. When you integrate UCM to VCR, does all content file get copied to VCR? Or it's just a kind of "image" of those files which we see in VCR?
4. If I add new files to UCM, are they available on VCR automatically? I mean, incremental, keep adding in UCM & keep accessing it in VCR? Or do I need to do something every time to make it available in VCR?

I'd appreciate your help.

Thanks.

Hi,

1. Did you use UCM adapter to integrate UCM with VCR?
-------YES
2. UCM stores content in XML format. How did you render them in browser? Did you write XSLT yourself or UCM adapter provides something for it?
-------I have only displayed that in WLP only and not on any browser. I am working on this part. If you found something let me know.
3. When you integrate UCM to VCR, does all content file get copied to VCR? Or it's just a kind of "image" of those files which we see in VCR?
-------I don't exactly, but all contents are displayed
4. If I add new files to UCM, are they available on VCR automatically? I mean, incremental, keep adding in UCM & keep accessing it in VCR? Or do I need to do something every time to make it available in VCR?
-------Yes, files are available automatically to VCR.

Thanks,
Vinod

Thanks Vinod.

I think I'll have to write XSLTs. Why I asked is because there is something called SSPU (Site Studio Publishing Utility) which transforms the content files (XML to HTML) so I thought UCM has XSLTs pre-written and we might use that some how... I'll surely update here if I get to know something.

Thanks again.
