database views as a property for entity

I am wondering If I can have views as a propertty to my entity with insertable and updatable equals to false , I did this it was working fine but If I delete this entity hibernate tries to delete the record from view , also I am wondering If I can tell hibernte not to create delete and create statements for this property

Hibernate associations and properties have the update and insert attributes that will do this.

Generally though views are better supported by queries or named queries.
