What do you say when you speak to yourself? Is that completely normal?

Hi ........
For me speaking to myself is
like a deep silence within......just a one way talk
or can say somone is here waiting for me to listen
to me always........
bcoz i just keep saying my all troubles and problems
to myself............and ask for solutions

bcoz at times it becomes difficult
for me to take decisions..........

at that moment some inner sounds come
and help me to solve my problems........

Completely normal. At least that is what I will always tell myself, out loud.

Now I speak more at the computer than myself and others, but it never seems to listen.

It depends on how those conversations go.

Seriously, I would say you might have a problem if...
  • While having these conversations, you don't realize you are the only participant.
  • These conversations foster unrealistic perceptions.
  • The conversations bother other people around you.

But all those motivation tapes, seminars etc. are lying then. They all tell you to tell yourself things, most of which will potentially might foster unrealistic expectations. I think its OK to speak to yourself as long as it doesnt result in any serious arguments between the one of you and any violence against self or self resulting thereof.

Positive attitude can be very powerful, but... Anything taken to extremes can have negative effects.

Consider that these types of products are marketed to people who want to believe, and if they didn't suggest the possibility of great things, people wouldn't buy. Which title is more tempting? "Earn an Additional $12,000 Annually in Real Estate" or "Make Millions Now by Flipping Homes!" If you're in the market for a motivational product, then you're probably focused on the potential reward, which tends to overshadow a sense of realism.

Following dreams can be a good thing -- provided you don't stake too much on the outcome.

I'd also be concerned if you lose all the disagreements.
