I need to pass couple of request parameters while navigating "first","next","previous" pagination controls. These request parameters will be used at the managedBean to filter the Database Result.
Please suggest on this. Thanks.

Cheers,
Josh

There's a basic flaw in this idea. The whole point of a data scroller is to permit navigation within a fixed set of results. Changing the rules from view to view isn't supposed to be part of the concept. The scroller can handle where in the results you are, but changing the results themselves is quite another matter.

The pagination controls themselves do not fire action methods. They're bound to the Controller, not the Model.

Which means that you probably need to rethink this idea.

Thanks for the reply. Any idea how normally this can be achieved without passing at the DataScoller component. Thanks.

Normally, you'd create a whole new datamodel and redisplay the datatable. But that's a JSF "action" rather than something that the scroller can handle.

If updating the whole page is annoying, you can use AJAX to replace only the table display part of the page. RichFaces can not only do that, it can also do sorting and filtering on the data.
