I think I'd be a cartoonist or do something related to the graphic media.

My profession would be Happiest Man on Earth.

I am still trying to figure that out. And when I do, bye bye IT world, so to speak.

I was trying to get a Film degree in college, so I would love to be doing video/film production, but too difficult to get in and wouldn't pay my bills like IT is right now.

I have no idea what job I would be doing if there were no computers. Since I got my first computer when I was 13 I've been pretty sure that I was going to be doing something with computers.

Maybe I would have become a vet, or something else that has to do with animals. I've always been fascinated by nature and all kinds of animals.

If I would have so much money that I wouldn't have to go to work every day, I would be traveling the world and making photos. (That's what my parents are doing since my dad has retired a few years ago - right now they are in South Africa and Namibia).

Originally, the term "computer" referred to a person who performed numerical calculations (a human computer), often with the aid of a mechanical calculating device. - Wikipedia

I would love to say an astronomer etc, but to be honest, I probably would have ended up in the Army, at behind a desk in the local bank or something daft like that!

The thing about growing up in India (at least back in early 90s) was that you had only a few options that were considered safe, or else you can continue studying till you are into your forties, accumulate a very long list of degrees to your name, and hope (in vein) of making a living from teaching!

What makes you think that I haven't? Java's not the only language I'm bad at, you know. I also stink at basic, Delphi, C#, and Python.

Musician.

I started playing piano at age 4. Started lessons at age 8 and continued through high school.

I started tinkering with electronics at age 11 and got my first computer at age 14.

Thank the almighty that tech jobs pay much more than night club gigs .

Aloha,
Doug
