Good Day,

In our form we use accept-charset="utf-8". We would line to guarantee that all entered text would be utf-8. Does accept-charset="utf-8" do it?

Regards,
Dan

This should be easy to test, no?

I agree Ulf. However, as we all know, dealing with encoding is never a light thing. Maybe I need to rephrase my question... does anyone know how to ensure that all data entered into an HTML input field is encoded as UTF-8?

Regards,
Dan

That generally happens if the page containing the form is served using UTF-8. In that case, even the "accept-charset" might not be necessary, as the browser will use the same encoding for form submission that was used for the form page itself. Not all clients do the right thing, though, so you should test it with various browsers.
